Your till isn't open
Every cash sale is recorded against your own till, so it has to be open before you can take money. It takes one tap and your opening float.
Take the money. They scan the code and type their own name.
If the tablets stop working
- Take the money. Write the amount and the party size on the paper form.
- Have them sign the paper waiver. Nobody throws without a signed form — this is the part that cannot be skipped for any reason.
- Photograph each form before handing it back or filing it.
- Key them in here as soon as there is signal again. The form's own date and time is what gets recorded, not the moment you type it.
Checking a party in and marking them done both keep working with no signal — they send themselves when the connection comes back. Cash sales, signing and refunds need a connection, so paper is the fallback for those.
Saved records are marked as keyed from paper and attributed to you. They count toward the day's cash like any other sale.
